How California Closets did it
She turned to California Closets New York and design consultant Marilena Viscogliosi to realize her vision. They started with a large work surface designed to Rachel’s height and deep enough to hold her palettes, supplies, and drawing board.
Marilena designed both closed and open storage to organize all of Rachel’s supplies taking into account how she was used to storing and accessing them. Open shelving above the workspace would display a colorful array of paint tubes. Long vertical cubbies could hold different types and sizes of paper. Pull-out, square cubbies with inserts would make it easy to find the right pen and paper shade. And, everything else would be concealed behind soft-close drawers and flip-down doors for a clean “canvas” of a space.
Rachel chose a white and natural wood color palette to create a calming environment that echoes the serene landscape surrounding the studio.
