A Basic Closet Becomes a Chic Boutique

What She Wanted

Trinh Vo Yetzer’s Kirkland, WA, home featured enviable views and ample entertainment space—a perfect formula for her family of four. The master closet, however, had significantly less to offer. The space, which she shared with her husband, was small, congested and lacked basic organization.

After touring a friend’s newly remodeled closet, which reminded Trinh of “heaven,” she decided to call on California Closets Seattle/Bellevue to convert her own master closet. The goal? To transform her space into one that was inviting, orderly, and capable of accommodating both her and her husband.

How we did it

Trinh requested the same design consultant, Michelle Gion, who had worked on her friend’s closet. Michelle listened intently to Trinh’s and her husband’s needs, translating their hopes for the space into smart — and elegant — solutions.

I remember looking at the drawings and thinking, ‘Okay, if this closet even comes close, I’ll be happy.’ A month later, the closet was installed, and it looked even better than the drawing.

Now, segmented his-and-hers closet space introduce harmony to a once chaotic space. Housed on LED lit shelves, Trinh’s handbags, shoes, and accessories are more visible than ever — and easy to pair, too. Cabinets with semi-translucent doors and several dressers offer additional storage space for the couple’s clothing.

My sister and I always exchange clothes. She thinks my closet looks like a little boutique, so I’ll say to her, ‘Let’s have some wine in here and see what handbag you can have.’ We have a lot of fun.

Final Result

The impact? “Tremendous,” says Trinh, whose master closet is now systematic, spacious, and refined — but she and her husband aren’t the only beneficiaries.
